The Damnwells will be playing two (Yes TWO!) shows at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 on New Years Eve! Both shows are 21+ $20. Early show doors 7:30pm (show at 8:30), Late show doors at 10:30pm (show at 11). Tickets on sale this Thursday October 20th.

2011 was a great year and we can’t wait to ring in 2012 with you!

The Bourbon Drinking Hustlers tour is taking a second take starting next week in Asbury Park NJ. The dates below are with Harper Blynn & Carley Tanchon. After Hustlin’ through the Mid-West, Alex will be joining Rhett Miller starting October 12th in San Antonio. More information and ticket links available on the shows page.

The first tour behind No One Listens To The Band Anymore is now complete. Big thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed themselves. It was a blast playing with the Harper Blynn guys. That was the first of many more Damnwells tours for 2011. Luxembourg, here we come! Check out the tour page on our site for some recently announced dates.

During the course of recording and releasing the album, we made a number of videos. Now, it’s your turn! We’re holding a contest for a fan-directed music video. Choose a song from the new album and make a music video. Be creative – we’re looking forward to seeing what you can come up with. Sadly, none of the band members are able to appear in the video (unless you turn them into puppets…), but don’t let that stop you from creating your masterpiece.

Create your video and upload it to YouTube or Vimeo (please do NOT send us the actual video file!), then send the link to damnwellsvideo@gmail.com no later than end of day, May 20th. From there, we’ll pick the best video and post it online for the world to enjoy. Just remember to thank us when you win the Oscar. Good luck!

Sweet Water Child ~ Lullabies For Getty is a labor of love that came together through kismet and a simple twist of Internet fate. Strangers became friends and seemingly random life moments strung together to bring this album to fruition.

Dedicated to our friend Miss Getty Emelia Storm, the SMA warriors who fight alongside her, and the SMA angels cheering them on from above.

Lullabies for Getty can be purchased directly via the LFG BandCamp Site or via iTunes All proceeds from Sweet Water Child will go to The Getty Owl Foundation, to help put an end to Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

About The Damnwells :

Coming off a transitional year for the band, The Damnwells are set to release No One Listens to the Band Anymore, an album funded entirely by fans through PledgeMusic.com. The album contains twelve new Damnwells songs recorded in Chicago with producer Neal Ostrovsky.

The band has been referred to as a collaborative of great musicians and producers working with songs by lead singer/songwriter Alex Dezen. Dezen and Ted Hudson are the only two musicians who have remained a constant presence in the band over the years.

No One Listens to the Band Anymore was written while Dezen was participating in the famed Iowa Writers’ Workshop, getting his MFA and teaching at the University of Iowa. Writing songs so far from the music business – both physically and emotionally – provided Dezen with a fresh perspective that can be heard in the realness and authenticity of the songs.
