People are always sending messages asking us to play in their town. I try to keep track, try to tally requests, but I can never remember. Did two people request a show in Buffalo or twenty? Was that one request for Mexico City or twelve by the same person? What I would like to propose is the following: Reply to this blog with where you would like the Damnwells to play. The place with the most votes gets a show! Maybe. Why I have never done this before, I have no idea. Good ideas only come to me once a year. It’s almost Christmas, so I guess it’s just in time.

Matt Burgess is Matthew Burgess, aka Burgo (whichever you prefer, really). A Damnwells fan, he likes listening to music, mangling his guitar, and working towards getting worldwide recognition for his fabulous pastas. He lives in constant fear of being found out.

    You gotta come back to Madison, WI. Ever since I saw you there the first time opening for Rhett Miller (and you all Did Cheap Trick’s “Southern Girls” with Bun E on the Drums and wasn’t that Jonathan Brandt on Bass?) That show had me hooked and only missed one Madison show since, but it’s been quite a while.

    Anywhere in New Jersey would be pretty great, really. Or Philly. I could do Philly. But something around there. There’s a bunch of colleges in the Trenton/Ewing/Hamilton area, if that helps. Also play at Vintage Vinyl again!

    Come up to Grand Rapids, MI again! We loved you when you opened for LLB at Calvin College in 06. For a small bar venue in GR book Jukes or Billy’s, for a medium venue the Wealthy Street Theater, or if Kalamazoo is as close as you can get, the State Theater there is incredibly beautiful! Please come!

    Please come to Roanoke, Virginia or if you are looking for a college crowd, come to Blacksburg. Blacksburg is the home of VA Tech, which has just under 30,000 students. Another 10,000 go to Radford University which is only 10 minutes from Tech. On top of that, the biggest city in Southwest Virginia (Roanoke) is only 35 miles away. Southwest Virginia would love to see you!

    I just got the new album. Thanks so much! Can’t wait to listen to it this weekend and jam around town in the street machine. There are not many bands of your quality and caliber. I can’t believe more people don’t know about you. I’m constantly telling people about The Damnwells. Your albums never get old to me like so many others do.     richmond virginia!!
    we have a bunch of great venues to play. could send a list and on some of them, i recommend bands. also, the recording studio here, we bring singer songwriters in to play small shows in a “house party” way–always to promote good music! excellent and a lot of fun to do with some of our awesome folks in the business for years (yeah, from the early seventies when we rocked this town).

    lots of us have travelled to see you guys for years. come! i would be more than happy to give you the places to stay, eat, etc. will cook at my house if youd like a place to just hang without “public eye” stuff. i can be reached at wolfscream420@gmail.com
